Al-Ali, Director, Development Policy and Strategy of the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development; Mr. John Caruso, Project Manager, MASDAR, UAE and Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Mheiri, Project Engineer, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. This meeting was held on the heels of the recently-approved Cycle 2 of the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.

The meeting was convened to explore mutual opportunities for cooperation between the CDF and UAE. Arising out of the discussions, two (2) areas of potential cooperation were identified: Sustainable Infrastructure and Renewable Energy, with two areas proposed for possible collaboration in the short term, namely support to ongoing Geothermal project initiatives and Electrification of rural communities.

It was agreed that as a way forward in cementing the proposed relationship, Letters of Cooperation should be exchanged and periodic meetings held to advance cooperation efforts.
