Cox Estate, an agro-processing business located in Castries, has completed an energy audit through the Credit Risk Abatement Facility (CRAF), implemented by the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF). The audit was conducted by regional Energy Service Provider EcoCarib as part of CRAF’s Technical Assistance Programme.
The audit identified potential for up to 46% reduction in electricity consumption. The report also outlined the feasibility of installing a solar photovoltaic (PV) system to complement the energy efficiency measures and reduce reliance on grid power.
These results provide a pathway for Cox Estate to improve operational efficiency while managing long-term energy costs. The audit forms part of a broader effort by CRAF to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across CARICOM develop investment-ready clean energy projects.
The findings from the technical assistance engagement are intended to support future project development and may inform next steps toward financing and implementation under the CRAF facility.
CRAF continues to support the expansion of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions within priority sectors across the region, with the goal of improving business competitiveness and contributing to CARICOM’s sustainable energy objectives.
