Management Information System for the Public Sector Investment Programme (Phase 1)

Project Overview

OVERVIEW

Public investment and how well it is delivered to improve social and economic infrastructure directly influences the rate of economic growth and country’s progress in addressing social and economic disparities. Lessons learned globally suggest that improving processes and strengthening institutions related to the planning, allocation of resources to, and implementation of public sector investments programmes/projects yield significant returns.

The project strengthens the Government of Belize’s (GOBZ’s) capacity to manage public sector investment programmes/projects by upgrading its Public Sector Investment Programme Management Information System (PSIP-MIS).

Phase 1:
• Assessment of the current PSIP-MIS, its capacity to support the execution of the country’s current development agenda, and recommendations for addressing assessed deficits.
